A Second Wedding
Hello - a very quick post this morning as we are on our way to my niece's wedding (a 9 hour drive - not so fun!). This is the black and white card I was talking about yesterday in my post. I am a bit more happier with this card but still not my favorite - I just can't seem to make Tilda and Edwin stand out as much as I would like. I feel they should be soft looking and then they look washed out against the background - I did add a black shadow background to them after I cut them out - it does look better than before. Anyhow I used some Core'Dinations paper and black and white cardstock, I cut out a flower from the paper design, used a flower punch as well for top right corner flower, circle nesties, Martha Stewart lacey heart punch, my sizzix die for the word "love", some black lace ribbon and lots of little sparkly diamonds(hard to see). To finish off I added some sparkle to her dress as well (again hard to see on the photo). Copics used were E000, E02, E11, C2, C4 and C7, E31, E35, E37, YR21, YR24. Got to go and finish my last minute packing, take the dog for a walk and then we are off - will have no postings till I get back - won't even take my computer with - have a wonderful weekend!

Wedding Wishes
Hello everyone - I vow to never leave things to the last minute again - especially card making - I have 2 wedding cards to make for this weekend and we are leaving tomorrow morning to the one wedding for the weekend. I have so many last minute things to do at home and I have to work today so I am not totally pleased with my card and like I said before I won't leave it to the last minute again - there is nothing worse than being rushed when you are trying to design and put together a card - it is definately murphy's law that nothing turns out as you plan. Anyways I stamped up this adorable Tilda and Edwin wedding stamp (first time it has seen ink) - I colored 2 sets at the same time - I haven't quite finished the second wedding card but it will be black and white - for this one I decided on the paper first - it was in my scrap stash pile - I quite liked the soft brown tones and so I colored Tilda and Edwin to match the brown tones - I am thinking it may not have enough contrast though. I used my Martha Stewart garland border punch for the top , some lace for the bottom, my circle nestie for the background, some prima flowers and my fern punch, I did some real stitching and some faux stitching. I cut out a couple of flowers from the paper (hard to see) and added some pearls here and there and added some sparkle to Tilda's dress (again hard to see on the picture). Copics used were Y11, E000, E02, E11, G20, YR20, YR21, YR24, E31, E35, E37 and E41. I will see if I have time to post the 2nd wedding card before we leave (hopefully I can finish it) - if not will be back on Monday - so hopefully will have a new card for Tuesday. We here in our province have a long weekend - Monday is a holiday (British Columbia Day) - so if you are from B.C. have a wonderful long weekend and enjoy the sunshine - it is supposed to be hot all weekend!!! Yeah!!!

Romeo Romeo Where Art Thou Romeo?
Hello - today is just a quick post - not to post a card but to show you the new addition to our family (he is my son's and his girlfriend's dog - they are living with us for the summer) - he is absolutely the most adorable little guy!!! We were all saying to each other yesterday "I wonder how many times the word CUTE has been said" we figured most likely over 1000 times (this is one day) His name is Romeo and he is so so cuddly and with personality plus!! He is a Coton de Tulear, a not so common breed who will max out at about 10-13 pounds. His mission in live they say is to love and to be loved - what more can anyone ask for. Thanks for stopping by and visiting - will be back soon with a new card post. Have a great day!!

Special Things
Hello - how is your weekend going? It is super hot here this weekend and I am loving it! I have been very busy this weekend as I have company and we have a new puppy in our house - my son and his girlfriend (who live with us for the summer) just bought a brand new Coton de Tulear puppy. It is not a common breed but oh so cute - I will post a couple of pictures in the next day or so of him. His name is Romeo and we all just adore him. Even my dog is very tolerant of the new puppy. Anyways my card which I didn't think I would even have time for this weekend is an adorable image from - oh no - just looked at my stamp and I lost the packaging and I am not sure which company this is from - so sorry. It is very adorable though - the sentiment is from the Stamp Barn. I colored the image with copics and paper pieced her shirt. I added prima flowers, brown brads and a Martha Stewart border on the bottom. This was a fairly quick and easy card which was perfect for this weekend as my time was very limited. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and hope you have a great Sunday!

Bikini Babe
Hello everyone - boy I have to say there is a real art to coloring hair with copics and I have not mastered it that is for sure. I really struggled with her hair in fact this was my third try - My first two trys were brunette and it was really awful and so I decided to tone it down and make her hair blonde - it is more forgiving. I am taking some copic classes online through Suzanne Dean at Scrapbitz starting in the fall and I am hoping to get much better at the hair coloring. There is a huge difference from coloring Magnolias to these C.C. Design images - the image is mostly hair!! Oh well not one of my favorite coloring jobs but I do like how the card came together, I used scrap paper, a big prima flower and brad, Martha Stewart punch, SU corner punch, jewels and my quickutz to cut out the letters. My copic colors were E000, E02, E11, YR20, YR21, YR24, B000, RV34, R20. Thanks for stopping by for a visit - I love these cute summer images - oh the stamp is from C.C. Designs. Have a great day!!

Bugs & Kisses
Hello - hope you had a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by to visit. My card today is nice and summery - just like our weather here. This Tilda has not seen much ink and I really do like her. I colored her with my copics (sorry I didn't record the colors this time - sometimes I forget to do that - I put them away too quickly). The designer paper is from my paper scrap stash and the cardstock is just bright red. I used my new Bugs and Kisses sentiment (first time inked) - I do love the saying - I decided I had better have at least one bug on the card so I added the bumblebee brad. I used a large red prima flower and jewel in the centre, some smaller yellow and red brads and I cut out some flowers from my designer paper. I used some red gingham ribbon and used my white gel pen to add some dots around the outer oval nestie. I also used some Tim Holtz distress ink and stickled it around Tilda. I am happy with the way it turned out - Have a great Tuesday - and thank you for all your sweet comments!

For the Love of Dogs
Hello everyone - Yeah!! It's the weekend - I really shouldn't be so excited because I have a lot of house work to do, plus some cooking and baking - but at least it is more relaxed around the house and I am not rushing out the door to get to work. The weather is beautiful once again - I am happy! My post for today is one of my favorite stamps and that is because it is dogs and lots of dogs - I am a dog lover so when I saw this stamp by Stamping Bella I just knew I had to have it. My Basic Grey paper (Max & Whiskers line) went perfectly with this stamp. I had lots of fun putting this card together and using a variety of the patterns. I did lots of layering which I don't normally do but I like it. I colored in the image with my copics, added a couple of flowers, buttons, brown brads a SU corner punch and a computer generated sentiment. If it wasn't for my husband telling me "no" everytime I want to take a puppy home - I am sure I would have a pack like this myself!! Copics used - W00, W1, W3, C0, C1, C2, C4, C7, BG0000, E30, E33,E35, E37, E40, E43, E49, R08, BG09. I also used a white pen to highlight the dogs and the main front doggy I cut out and popped up (kind of hard to tell on the photo) oh and I also added a bone to finish off the card. Thank you so much for stopping by to visit. Hope you have a great weekend!

My First Digi-Stamp
Hello everyone - today my post is a card made with my first digi-stamp. This was one of the digi-stamps I won at House Mouse Challenge a couple of weeks ago. A very nice lady from Papercupcakes sent me this image as well as one other. She has some very nice images to download and her website is www.papercupcakes-stamps.com. This image is called Sunday Afternoon. I cut out both the girl and the duck, colored them with my copic markers (E15, E33, E35, E37, E00, E02, R20, C1, C4, C5, Y21, Y26, B32 and YG17). I added some prima flowers, used my quikutz dies to cut out a couple of swirls as well as the orange flowers, I stamped the sentiment from a SU set, added some flowersoft to the bottom, put a lace doily under the 2 layers of label nesties, added a "fencelike" border and finished off the card with some glass brads, jewels and some sparkle to her dress and swirls. I found that the black ink from my printer bled a bit when I started to color with my copics even though I did heat set and left it overnight. I was a bit disappointed about that but over all I was happy with how the card turned out. Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog. Hope you have a great Wednesday - half the work week almost over - yeah!!

Congratulations Card
Hello - this is my second post for today - this will not happen very often believe me! It just so happened I needed to make a quick card tonight because someone we know has worked for a company for 10 years and they are having a party for her. I wanted to make her a card to congratulate her and I knew this Bella stamp would be perfect. She works in an office on the computer so this image works well. I stamped the image on white cs, colored her in with my copic markers (sorry I forgot which colors I used - I put them all away this time), I paper pieced her blouse and pants. All the paper I used was new as well - it came from a 6" paper pad from Kaisercraft - "Hey Birdie Collection". I just love this paper!! We have a wonderful scrapbooking store in town (see sidebar) that carries all this great paper!. I stamped the sentiment (also a stamping bella stamp), added a few jewels, punched a flower and then finished off with a couple of green brads. I will be giving her the card tomorrow so I am excited! Bye for now - back to work for me tomorrow! Have a great Monday!!

Penny Black Challenge 109
Hello - I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend - I am enjoying our beautiful summer weather - I absolutely love the heat!! I got an exciting email yesterday - I had won 2 digistamp images from a company called Paper Cupcakes (house mouse challenge winner). I contacted Nina the owner of the company to receive my free digistamps and she had checked out my blog and was quite impressed with my work. She has offered me a chance to join her team as a designer or a guest designer. I was super excited to get that news. I have only had my blog open for a couple of months so I was really surprised. I decided to just be a guest designer for one month. I don't want to commit to anything more than that right now - but I am excited to participate in her Magical Monday Weekly Challenge for one month. I am not sure yet which month I will be participating but I am looking forward to it. Anyways on to my card for Penny Black challenge 109, I used a new image I just bought from the Penny Black slapstick line. Once again I used some of my new Bo Bunny paper. I just love this paper as it does most of the work. This card really is only the stamped image which I colored with copics, I then added a button, the sentiment (also from Penny Black), a few star brads, I used my oval nesties to cut out the 2 background ovals and added a SU corner and voila that was it!! Like I said the paper did all the work for me this time. Copics used were E01, E02, E41, E42, G14, G16, W1, W3, W5, W7, YR20, YR24, R20, B21, B23 and R29. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and visit - I always appreciate all your comments. Thank you so much for your kind words.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge - School's Out for Summer Challenge 120
Hello everyone - Today my local scrapbooking store, (see side bar), brought in a whole bunch of new paper and I absolutely love love paper and there was lots of new Bo Bunny paper - I couldn't resist most of the patterns and ended up buying a whole stack of new paper - tonight I couldn't wait to play - so I decided to join in the Cute Card Thursday Challenge because I got lots of summertime paper! I stamped Tilda with Mememto Tuxedo Black ink and colored her in with my copic markers, colors used were B000, B00, B01, B02, B05, E00, E01, E02, E31, E33, E34, E37, YR00, YR20, YR21, TY23, YR24 and R20. I used all new Bo Bunny paper - I used 4 different sheets for this card and the sentiment is also cut out from the Bo Bunny paper. I stamped the Magnolia sun and added that to the card, as well as adding the big turquoise brad in the corner, some colored twine on both sides, an actual seashell, some tiny jewels and at the end I cut out the little bee (also from Bo Bunny paper) and popped him up on the top of the bench. I think it looks better in real life - because there is so much white in the background the photo didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. I think I need to brush up on my photo taking skills. I wish I was Tilda today - I would have loved to be at the beach - we hit 39 degrees celsius today - a really hot summer day - but I love the heat!! I hope you have a great weekend!! Hope you get time to stamp - I am hoping to spend some more time in my craft room too!

Penny Black Challenge - Red, White and Blue
Hello everyone!! Guess what I won my very first challenge over at House Mouse. It was only the second time I had entered a challenge with House Mouse. I found out last night and I was so surprised!! I won 2 free digistamps - one of my choice and one choosen for me. I do not know anything about digistamps so when I email the company I will have to ask them all about this - how to download, what paper to use, if I need to use a special ink - I have seen people using these digistamps but this is really new for me - it should be fun to try!! I will post a card using my new digistamp in the future! Anyhow on to today's card - I entered this card in the Penny Black challenge. The challenge is Red, White and Blue in honour of Independence Day in the USA. I will have to tell you I almost didn't enter this challenge because of the colors red, white and blue - definately not my favorite color combo. Then I thought to myself - it would be good to challenge myself and make a card using colors I am not fond of. To be honest again this is not my favorite card either - just can't warm up to those colors. Anyways I used this cute Penny Black image (love this image), Penny Black sentiment, ribbon, Martha Stewart star punch, sixix (spelling ?) die cut for stars, I finished the card off by adding some rhinestones to give it some bling. I used my copics to color the hedgies (sorry didn't keep out the colors but I know I used the warm grays , W1, W3 and W5 for sure and a red, blue and a yellow for the flowers. Thank you for stopping by for a look and I hope you have a wonderful week whereever you are from. We are finally getting that HOT summer weather that we had been promised and it is supposed to get even hotter by the weekend - Yeah!!!

You Make Me Smile
Hello everyone - I just purchased some new Magnolia (again!!) - can't seem to get enough of these adorable images. Last night I inked up this so very cute Sunflower Tilda (not sure if that is what the actual name of her is - but that is what I call her). It was a beautiful day so I sat outside on my deck and stamped a few images and colored with my copics - it reminded me of when I was a kid with a new coloring book and crayons - how I loved that!! I had the paper choosen before I colored Tilda so I knew she was going to be turquoise and brown. I did struggle with coloring her hair this time I must admit - but was ok with it once I finished. I cut out a couple of extra sunflowers and colored them to add. The designer paper (sorry I never know the paper companies)is very busy so I didn't need to add too much extra to this card. Just so you know I have such a huge stack of paper that I am determined to use up before I start buying more so I never know what company they are from. When I start buying more paperI will keep them labelled I promise. I did add a strip of lace, used my Martha Stewart around the page punch for the outside border and my Martha Stewart punch for the little fence. I used my walnut stain distress ink to ink up the little fence. I used my circle nestabilies to cut out 2 circles from the designer paper - I found the perfect area to cut from to get the nice swirls. I stamped the sentiment from Magnolia, added a couple of antique brads, distressed the edges and layered it on turquise cs. To finish the card off I stamped the adorable little Magnolia bird - colored him in and popped him up. The copics I used were B000, B02, C1, E00, E01, E02, E21, E29, E30, E31, E35, E37, R02, RV09, YR00, YR20, YR21, YR23. Thanks for stopping by to have a look - I am really enjoying reading the comments that you leave - they really make my day! Have a super Sunday - it is raining here again!! It is supposed to get HOT by mid week so looking forward to that.
