Make a Splash - House Mouse Challenge 77
Hello everyone - you may or may not have noticed I changed the heading and background of my blog - I really didn't like the other look I had and although I am not totally satisfied with the new look - I like it better than it was - so I guess that is a step in the right direction. I am not good with all the computer technical stuff - maybe one day I will hire someone to customize my blog to exactly how I would like it but for now this is it - my card for today is for the House Mouse challenge 77 - Make a Splash - anything water goes - I actually tried to watercolor the image but tried a few times and then gave up - I was not getting the results I wanted - I need more practice with that. I pulled out my trustworthy copics and colored in the image adding some white gel pen highlights. There is not too much to this card other than a sizzix frame diecut, prima flower, faux stitching, 3 small blue brads in the corners. I did use Tim Holtz stormy sky for the background of the image - I sponged that on first and then colored my image. I used a sticker I had for the sentiment - I placed it down and it wasn't completely straight - so that kind of bugs me - I did try to lift it up again to move it slightly but the paper lifted up too - so I left it alone!! This image reflects the type of day we have here today - overcast and rainy - hopefully our indian summer will kick in soon - it is way too cold for my liking - hope you have a fabulous day!!

PB Challenge 116 Summer Lovin
Hello everyone - it has been a while since my last post - I have been super busy with cooking and cleaning and work of course this past week - it will even get worse next week as my oldest son is coming home for a week before he goes off to university. I will probably need to hide in my craft room if I want any peace and quiet!! My card tonight is for the Penny Black challenge - Summer Lovin - it doesn't feel much like summer around here lately the temperature has taken a huge dive downwards - not to my liking that is for sure!! I used one of my favorite PB images - just love this sweet little mouse - I colored the image with copics, computer generated the sentiment, added a few prima flowers, brads and jewels and that does it. Copics used were V000, R81, R85, W1, W3, G20, G40, G82, B41, B45, B000 I also added Tim Holtz spun sugar distress ink around the edges. Thank you for stopping by to take a look - thanks so much for all your wonderful comments as well!

Just Magnolia Challenge Week 69
Hello everyone and I hope you had a great weekend - I sure did - although it went by wsy too quickly for my liking! Today the kids come home and the chaos begins all over again. Oh well I have till 9:00 tonight - so I will enjoy every minute!! My card today was made for Just Magnolia Challenge. To be honest this card took me way too long to make - I revamped it a couple of times and still I am not completely satisfied with the results. Oh well that is how it goes sometimes I guess. I used my new Magnolia stamps and a stamp from my favorite sentiment stamp set from C.C. Designs. I didn't use very many copics for coloring as lots of her was paper pieced - oh I guess I did use a few to color the suitcase - I used W1, W3, W5 and W7 for that and E41 and E44 for the stick part. I used my label nestabilities, some lace, gingham ribbon, Tim Holtz distress inks for backgrounds and edging, sizzix oval tag die cut and some gold gel pen for adding dots to finish. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and all your kind comments. Have a fabulous Monday!!

Tiddly Inks "Thinking of You"
Hello everyone - last eveing as I was driving home from work I spotted this girl walking and she was wearing a black and purple outfit and I thought to myself that would be a great color combo for a card. Last night I looked through my scrap stash and couldn't find any purple that I liked - there are so many shades of purple it is incredible!! Anyways I liked the one I choose for the background but it also had yellows and blues in it so I decided to bring out those colors and add black just as a highlight color. I found this Tiddly ink (Gratty tude) stamp by Stamping Bella - and thought she would be perfect to color to match all the papers I choose. I stamped her in Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored with copics. I used faded jeans Tim Holtz distress ink to add the blue-ish background around the image. I used a Penny Black stamp for the music notes on the yellow background and then added black soot Tim Holtz Distress ink around the edges. I then layered everything, added some faux stitching, used my sizzix flower die to add the small flowers and added a few black brads. stickles sparkle to finish off. Oh the sentiment is from C.C. Designs. Copics used were Skin - E00, E11, Vase - E02, Hair - YR24, YR21, YR20, Dress, Heart, Shoes - V17, Flowers - B41, B45. Yeah today is Friday and I am super excited - the house will be empty this weekend - the kids and Romeo are off to the coast for the weekend - they will be back on Monday. I am hoping to have a nice quiet but productive weekend - got some housecleaning to catch up on and some card making - I am GD for Paper Cupcakes for the month of Sept. so I am wanting to get some of that work done ahead of time. I hope to partake in a couple of weekend challenges as well. Thank you for taking some time out of your busy day to stop by for a visit and I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and weekend!!

What U got Cookin?
Hello everyone - last night I went to my craft room and saw a stamp that I wanted to use that I haven't used for a very long time - it is the circular background stamp that says "Hey Good Lookin ..." I immediately thought of this baking Tilda to go with it so I searched my scrap stash for paper and found the color combo I wanted to use and the rest of it came together easy peasy - well sort of!! I am terrible - before I started this blog idea when I got new stamps I would take them out of their packaging and file them away in a binder. Now I do not know from what company some of my stamps are from and this is one of them. The forks and knife and the "Kiss the Cook" are all from the same stamp set. If anyone really wants to know please email me and I can find out for you - I would just have to go and ask at my local stamp store where I purchased it. Once I stamped Tilda I cut her out and paper pieced her clothing. I used my scalloped nesties and SU circle cutter to get the proper fits. I added some Tim Holtz Walnut Stain distress ink to some of the background, did some faux stitching and cut-out 3 flowers from the DP to complete the card. I must say I was pleasantly pleased with the results this time - I am very picky (with myself) so often I am not totally happy with my cards but I do know it is a work in progress and the more I make them the better I will become and happier I will be with the results. I thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and to be a part of this journey with me. I hope you have a fabulous day - mid-week - slowly but surely getting closer to the weekend!!!

Just Magnolia Week 68 - A Sketch
Hello everyone - today my card was made for the Just Magnolia challenge sketch. I used this adorable Tilda holding puppy image. As you may already know I love dogs and especially puppies - I am in my glory at home as my son and his girlfriend bought little Romeo (see previous posts) and I get to play the "grandma" part and it is lots of fun. Anyways back to the card I used my Basic Grey paper "Max & Whiskers". I love this paper. I layered it together with matching cardstock and also stamped Magnolia steps and Magnolia sentiment. I added some SU ribbon and SU copper buckle. I cut out a fire hydrant from the BG paper (couldn't resist), added some icicle border punch on the bottom (not supposed to be icicles here though) and a few quickutz flowers and SU copper brads for centres. I did some faux stitching and some white gel dots to complete the card. Copic used were E00. E02, E11, E27, E30, E33, E37, E41, E43, YR09, YR20, YR24, BG11, BG72, BG78. Thank you so much for stopping by and visiting. Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments!!! Have a great day!!

PB Challenge "Feeling Fruity"
Hello everyone - today my card is for this week's PB challenge "Feeling Fruity". I just knew which image I wanted to use as soon as I read the challenge. Actually this is the only PB stamp I own that has fruit on it. I stamped the image with my Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with my copics (see colors below). I layered with designer paper from my scrap stash. The pink paper in the background has cherries on it but I guess I covered them all up with the layering. I used my nestability to cut out the scalloped rectangle which I also used as a layer. I did some faux stitching as well as some real stitching. I added some Tim Holtz, Spun Sugar distress ink to color the edges of the big white flower as well as the edges of the main image. I used my sizzix die to cut out the centre flower that I layered on the big white flower and then added a green brad. I added some small/medium flower brads to finish off the card and used my PB sentiment stamp and my SU circle punches, a bit of ribbon to add "wish big". Thanks for visiting. We are having the most incredible hot summer day today - I absolutely love it!! Hope your Sunday is going as well as mine is.
Copics Used
G05, G07, W1, W5, W7, E41, E43, E44, V000, R20, RV32, R22, R35 and RV34

Cute Card Thursday Tree-mendous Challenge
Hello everyone and Happy Friday. I am so glad it is Friday - one more day of work and than 2 days off - the kids came home late last night so I was glad they arrived safe and sound. I am already in a different mode but that is ok - I feel blessed that I am able to be active and do all the things that I am able to do. My card for today is for the Cute Card Thursday challenge. We are to use trees/leaves in our project. My hubby doesn't think a tree stub is worthy of this challenge but I assured him it is ok. I used my C.C. Design stamps (which I just adore) and a C.C. Design sentiment as well (I love this package of sentiments - there are a whole bunch of small cute sayings that are so perfect for so many cards). I colored her with my copics (listed below) and paper pieced the two pink mushrooms at the tree stump and added stickle sparkles to them. I colored the background in with Copic Markers R0000 and B0000 (very pale blue and pink and it is hard to see on the picture). I cut out a sparkly butterfly from some Best Creations Inc. paper and glued it to the top left corner. I used my sizzix die (hawaian flowers) to cut out the 3 flowers in the background and added 3 small pink brads for the centres. I then layered the paper with some basic grey paper in the very background and added some ribbon and a pre-cut border punch on the bottom. I added a cute mushroom brad to the tree stump and a pink twine bow at the very end and did a bit of my doodling and faux stitching to finish the card. Thanks for stopping by to visit and once again thank you for all your wonderful comments.

House Mouse "Vintage" challenge
Hello everyone - one more sleep and then the chaos begins once again. How come time goes so fast whenever you want it to go real slow. My house will be full again tomorrow night and little Romeo returns (see previous posts)!! I decided I wanted to enter a couple of challenges this week and so this is challenge number two. House mouse has a great challenge this week - it is to make a vintage type card and as soon as I read that I thought of this little guy in the old fashioned tub. This card started with the image and then I saw this paper that I had in my scrap stash that had the words "A Little piece of Heaven" and I knew that I would combine the two. I colored the image with my copic markers - tub - W7, W5, W3, W1, the bunny in W5, W3, W1 and the bubbles I used E42 and E41. I used my SU oval punch to cut out the bathroom mat, added some Tim Holtz Walnut Stain distress ink and put it through my cuttlebug for texture. I added some ribbon to the sides, some quikutz tiny flowers around the sentiment, a sizzix corner punch which I also added some Walnut Stain to. To finish off the card I glued on some ivory pearls for the bubbles and a few tiny buttons for the flower centres. I was pleased with how it turned out. Thank you so very much for stopping by to visit and have a great Thursday - I know I won't have as much time when the kids all come home to make cards but I will try to get in a few a week still.

Penny Black Challenge 113 On the Beach
Hello everyone - it is so nice having all this peace and quiet - I was able to whip together a card for this week's Penny Black challenge - it has been a while since I joined along as I have been so very busy with work and home life. On the Beach is the theme so I immediately thought of this adorable Penny Black image and gathered a bunch of my new Bo Bunny paper. The background circle is actually cut from some paper that my daughter brought back for me from Australia when she was there a few years ago. I never wanted to use it because it was very special to me but I thought for this challenge it was the perfect fit. I stamped the mice image with Memento Black Tuxedo ink and colored it in with my copic markers E49, E44, E41 and the flower is YR24, YR21 and YR00. The sentiment is a C.C. Design stamp. I used my nestability for the background and layered the papers, added some clear orange pearls and then used my sparkle glue to add to the flower, starfish, sun and waves on the water. I wish I hadn't added the waves on the water because I didn't get them straight and that annoys me (I am very anal about things unfortunately or maybe it is a good thing - I haven't yet figured that out). Have a great Wednesday and thank you so very much for stopping by for a visit.

Birthday Boy Edwin
Hello everyone - finally I was able to get back to my craft room - I thought I might have a chance this weekend but with all the commotion around our house not a chance. Things have quietened down substantially in the past 24 hours and I am loving it. My son and his girlfriend and the new puppy are away until Thursday night and my daughter left on Saturday night to go back to Calgary. I spent all day Sunday cleaning house and getting things back to some normalcy. I also forgot how difficult having a new puppy in the house is - I had to babysit Romeo for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and oh my gosh - I totally forgot how much work it is and how much patience you need - my own dog, Toby, is 10 years old and very mature and well behaved. Anyways I have peace and quiet just myself and husband till Thursday night and then the chaos begins again. Romeo will be back as well as my son, his girlfriend and her sister. (The sister is here till Sunday), my son and his girlfriend till mid to end of September. I needed a boy birthday card so I pulled out an older Edwin Magnolia stamp. I stamped him with Mememto Tuxedo Black ink and colored him in with my copics (sorry didn't keep track of the numerous colors I used for the card). I also stamped the Magnolia apple bucket, Magnolia fence and a SU birthday sentiment. I layered with various papers, I used my cuttlebug folder for the background red paper, added some ribbon and twine, some faux stitching, some flower brads, Tim Holtz distress ink for the blue and brown background and a SU corner punch and heart punch to finish off the card. I also added some crystal effects to the egg and apples in the basket but it is really hard to see on the photo. I am hoping to get some more time in my craft room before the chaos begins again. Thank you for stopping by to visit and hope you have a fabulous day!!

Holly-Day Wishes
Hello everyone - it has been a while since I last posted - but these past 6 days have just flown by - being away and then returning and having so much going on at work and at home, my daughter visiting from Calgary and it just goes on and on - it seems I just don't have enough hours in the day to accomplish all I want to do!! I have not had a chance to make a card in these past few days but I do have a few cards on hand that I have made in the past that have never been posted anywhere so I thought I would share one of those with you today. This card is a Christmas card using adorable Tilda. I paper pieced all her clothing and used copics to color in her hair, the basket and flowers as well as the background fence. I cannot remember where the sentiment stamp is from but it may be SU. I added some prima flowers, small brads for flower centres, small buttons for coat and a lace ribbon border for the bottom and a red gingham ribbon for the top border. Thanks for stopping by to visit - I am hoping to get back to my craft room real soon - I did clean it all up before I left this past weekend so it will be nice to get back in there and get creative again. I am hoping to get back to some challenges again as well. Hope you have a great Friday - I am so so happy it is Friday - looking forward to the weekend!!!
